Hymn: I Surrender All
Call to Worship God calls us to give an account of our lives. We stand in the presence of the Judge of all people. God asks us to declare our allegiance. We are followers of God through Jesus Christ. God requires that we are not followers in name only but in deeds. We offer the simplicity of our lives as signs of our devotion to God and not to wealth.
Prayer of Confession
You have called us, O God, to follow your Son Jesus of Nazareth. We have not willingly followed his example of being a servant to all. We find it hard to serve even those we love. We are more apt to seek revenge on those who hurt us rather than to serve and care for them. Forgive us by the power of your Holy Spirit and fill us with the love of Jesus that we may follow in his footsteps and serve all we encounter. We ask it all in Jesus' name. Amen. Time of Personal Reflection Assurance of Pardon In Christ there is no east or west, In him no south or north, But one great fellowship of love throughout the whole wide earth. In Jesus Christ, there is new life. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Hymn: O Master, Let Me Walk With Thee Apostle's Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost and born of the virgin Mary. Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. On the third day he arose from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty. From thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. Hymn: No, Not One
Call to Worship Our God will supply every need of ours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God be glory forever and ever. Come, let us bring God our needs this day. To our God be glory forever and ever.
Good morning!
Thank you for joining with us today!
I came upon today's hymn while looking for a different one that was suggested. I was so taken with this one, that I decided to save the suggestion for next week!
Thanks to Lisa for suggesting today's prayer.
When we meet in person, we share our joys and concerns together. Take a few minutes to consider the last week. What personal joys and concerns do you have? Who do you believe needs prayer? You may also want to look at our continuing prayer list from last week's worship service. Once you have taken some time to reflect, use the following prayer (from Reinhold Niebuhr, 1892 - 1971, in The Oxford Book of Prayer) to begin.
O God, who hast bound us together in this bundle of life, give us grace to understand how our lives depend upon the courage, the industry, the honesty, and the integrity of our fellow-men; that we may be mindful of their needs, grateful for their faithfulness, and faithful in our responsibilities to them; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Hymn: Love Devine, All Loves Excelling
Call to Worship The grace of God was given to us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time. It has now been revealed through God's Son Jesus Christ. He has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. It is this grace and faith we proclaim and hold on to. It is this God and Savior that we worship. Let us praise and adore our living God that sent his Son Jesus to share a faith with us and share with others. |
