Prayer of Confession    (unison)
Almighty God, our heavenly Father, it is Your will that we should love You with heart, soul, mind, and strength, and our neighbor
as ourselves. We continually fail. We confess that our affections continually turn away from You; from purity to lust, from freedom
to slavery, from compassion to indifference, from fullness to
emptiness. Have mercy on us. Order our lives by Your holy word, and make Your commandments the joy of our hearts.  Forgive our selfish ways and turn our hearts toward You.

Sunday School: The Suffering Servant

Good Morning!
Happy Easter!

When we met in person, we shared our joys and concerns together. Take some time to think over your last week. What joys and concerns do you have? If you would like, you can share those as a comment so that the rest of us can pray as well. When you're ready, use the prayer below (from Woman's Day) to get started.
Lord, we lift our hearts to you. As the dawn breaks, may we carry the unity we share into every moment knowing that we are one with the risen Christ.
Lord, we lift our eyes to you. As the sun rises, may this moment stay with us, reminding us to look for the beautiful colors of promise in your word.
Lord, we lift our prayers to you. As the dew air falls, may we breathe this morning in and know that like the earth, you sustain us, keep us and work within us always.
And so, we lift our voices to you. We celebrate the greatest day in history, when Jesus rose from death, defeated darkness and bathed the world in stunning resurrection light. May we ever live to praise you!

​Amen.


Today's lesson is on Isaiah 53:4-11. The devotional reading is Philippians 2:1-11.

Call to Worship
​Come, and open your hearts to this season of Advent. Light the candles and hear the carols. Rest in the joy that comes with this time of year. Come and open your lives to the light of the world. We are walking toward Bethlehem and listening every step of the way for the announcement that we have found favor with God.
Call to Confession
It is in our confession that we realize our desires for God and our hope for God’s mercy. It is in admitting the truth of our lives that we take the first step toward wholeness and healing. So let us make our confession this day.
 
Prayer of Confession
Loving God it is true that we do not see Your vision for life. We get stuck in the old patterns of life and can't see beyond our bad habits and limited hope. We do not look deep enough to see You in the midst of difficulty. We do not recognize You in our longing for someone or something to take away the emptiness. Help each of us to find that deep love that is offered to us by the child in the manger.

Announcements:  This year we will not be able to have our traditional Sunday School Christmas program. Instead, we will be having a virtual program on Sunday, December 20. Since we have been apart for almost nine months, we would like to share Christmas greetings and memories.

 We added Debbie Kelley to our prayer list this week and Rick McFeeley will be going to Allegheny General for another operation on his knee to clean out the infection.  His father, Dick McFeeley fell and is in Senior Care.  Daron Wood is back in the hospital.  Seth Cummings (3 yrs. old) will be having dental surgery at Children’s Hospital on 12/31, his father Dave has had multiple surgeries on his arm and will be off work 6 months.
