Ways to Join Us
As well as Sunday School and Worship, we have other ways to participate in the life of the church. These are opportunities to serve God, have fellowship with other members of our church family, and strengthen our faith.
Women's Missionary Society
The Women’s Missionary Society has been active at North Buffalo Presbyterian Church since the 1800s. We participate with Women’s Missionary Presbyterian USA through Birthday Offering, Least Coin Collection, and Thank Offering Sunday. We support various Missions within our community and if there is a family within the community who has a house fire or any natural disaster we will be there for them as well. Through the years we have organized the Mother and Daughter Banquet, and Funeral Luncheons for our grieving members. We have always been small in number but when there is a need in the church or community our gracious congregation has always been there to help.
Women on Wednesday
WoW began in the early 1990's. We have had as many as 15 ladies to as low as 3 attend over the years. It is a group of friends coming together to share ideas, recipes, books, coupons, garden produce, crafts, etc. We support and pray for each other. Sometimes we have Soup & Sandwich socials, and we help to serve at dinners. We have a Craft Show, book exchanges and annual Bake Sale in November. Proceeds 100% go to charities or to North Buffalo. You don't need an invitation. Ladies in the church and community are welcome. We meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at 9:30 am with devotions and prayer concern. Coffee or tea kettle is on.
The church choir typically meets on Thursday evenings at 6:30, September-May. The choir sings at all regular and special services. In the summer the choir still sings on Sunday mornings with a brief rehearsal before the service. At times the choir will present a musical play at Advent and Lent.
A Prayer Chain has been formed within the congregation so when there is an emergency during the week and someone is in need of prayer they call the first person on the list who will then call the next person on the list and within a short period of time prayers will be going up for that person in need. Prayer Works!
