Gathering Around the Word
Prelude: Choir ANNOUNCEMENTS: CALL TO WORSHIP “For we were dead in our transgressions, but God, who is rich in mercy, made us all alive together with Christ.” Thanks be to God, who has shown us mercy and grace. “We have been saved by grace through faith, and this is not of our own doing; it is the gift of God.” Praise be to the Lord, who freely offers us this great gift of salvation. “We are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Out of gratitude, love, and a transformed heart we are called to serve and honor our Lord through acts of love and compassion. As we gather today, may our hearts be filled with gratitude for the gift of salvation, for we were once lost but are now found in Christ. Let us offer our praise, our worship, and our very lives to the One who has made us alive and who is worthy of our praise. All together - AMEN INVOCATION

Heavenly Father, Abba, we are thankful that through Christ we have been adopted as your children. We are grateful to know that our salvation is not a matter of our performance but of your grace. And yet, you want us to live loving, grace-filled lives.
Help us this morning to grow a bit more into the image of Jesus. Help us as we learn. Help us as we think and as we work and as we reach out to others. Help us as we pray. In your name. Amen.
Today's lesson is on Galatians 3:23-4:7.
This morning we welcome Christine Hainer as our guest speaker. Christine is area coordinator for Southwestern Pennsylvania for Operation Christmas Child. She has been volunteering for the ministry for 21 years.

Prelude Choir ANNOUNCEMENTS CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 44 We have heard it with our ears, O God; our ancestors have told us what You did in their days, in days long ago. It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; It was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your face, for You loved them. I put no trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; but You give us victory over our enemies, You put our adversaries to shame. In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise God’s name forever. INVOCATION

Dear Father,
Thank you for giving us your Spirit, not through works of law but through faith in our hearts. Even Abraham was saved by faith, for he believed you, and you counted it to him as righteousness. Thank you that Christ actually became the curse so that he could redeem us from its power, that the blessing of Abraham might come upon all nations, Jews and non-Jews, and that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Make us ever aware of the responsibilities as well as the rights which this relationship affords us. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
This week's lesson is on Galatians 3:1-14.
Today's guest speaker is Rev. Craig Kephart.

Prelude Choir ANNOUNCEMENTS CALL TO WORSHIP Even our praise comes first from You, O God . Fill our mouths with words and we give them back to You Lord, those praises are not our own; they come from You alone. Even our praise–every feeling and phrase–comes from You Having known God’s praiseworthiness, let us once again give Him our praise. INVOCATION

Dear Father,
Help us understand that in Christ we are dead to law; we have been crucified with Christ so that we might live unto you. Let Christ live within me. Let the life that I now live in the flesh be a life that I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Don't ever let me believe anything, espouse anything, do anything that might nullify your grace or imply that Christ died in vain. Let me today, this day, and every day of my life, live from the power of Christ, live by the example of Christ, and live for the glory of Christ. In the name of Christ I pray. Amen.
This week's lesson is on Galatians 2:11-21.
Much of this week's lesson comes from gotquestions.org.

Prelude: Choir ANNOUNCEMENTS: CALL TO WORSHIP: from Psalm 43 Vindicate me, O God. Plead my cause against an ungodly nation. Rescue me from deceitful and wicked people. You are God my stronghold. Do not reject me. Send forth Your light and Your Truth. Let them guide me. Let Your Light and Truth bring me to Your holy mountain. Let Your Light and Truth guide me. Then I will go to the altar of God and praise You. God is my joy and my delight. I will praise You with the harp and music, O God my God. My soul should not be downcast within me. Put your hope in God, my God. I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God. INVOCATION

Lord Jesus, Thank you for the grace and mercy you extend to us. Our sinful nature tells us to sit in our shame and to hide from your light. But you came to this earth and lived the perfect life so that we no longer need to be shackled by our sins. True freedom is found when we lay down our weakness to you.
Thank you for walking through this sinful world. You understand how we are tempted because you were tempted as well, yet never sinned. Your empathy allows us to bring every worry, every fear, and every fault to your feet because we know that you understand. Help us to approach your throne with confidence because it is a throne of mercy. When we try to hide our sin and shame, remind us of your boundless grace. I pray that we would draw nearer to you no matter what we're going through. Your Word promises that you will give us gracious help in our time of need – help us to believe that today. In Jesus Name, Amen

Prelude: Choir ANNOUNCEMENTS: CALL TO WORSHIP: from Psalm 42 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. Where can I go? When can I go and meet with God? I used to lead the procession of the multitude to the house of God, with shouts of joy and thanksgiving among the festive throng. Put your hope in God and do not be disturbed. I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God. Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; All your waves and breakers have swept over me. By day the Lord directs His Love, at night His song is with me—He is the God of my life. INVOCATION
