Hymn: Love Devine, All Loves Excelling
Call to Worship The grace of God was given to us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time. It has now been revealed through God's Son Jesus Christ. He has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. It is this grace and faith we proclaim and hold on to. It is this God and Savior that we worship. Let us praise and adore our living God that sent his Son Jesus to share a faith with us and share with others.
Prayer of Confession
Jesus our strong shepherd, your love for us is eternal and your care for us is persistent, but how on so many occasions we resist your loving guidance. We wander off, tempted by quick and flashy solutions. We hold back cautiously seeing what others are choosing. We whine about our disagreements and criticisms to anyone who will listen. We rush ahead, confident that we know the best. Strong and tender shepherd, draw us close to you so your voice will echo in our hearts and your love will guide our steps. Call us again by name and lead us in the paths of peace. We ask it all on this Sabbath morning in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen. Time of Personal Reflection Assurance of Pardon In Christ there is no east or west, In him no south or north, But one great fellowship of love throughout the whole wide earth. In Jesus Christ, there is new life. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Hymn: The Lord's My Shepherd, I'll Not Want Apostle's Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost and born of the virgin Mary. Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. On the third day he arose from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty. From thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
