Welcome and Morning Greeting
INTROIT: “I Love to Tell the Story” CALL TO WORSHIP: Sisters and brothers - Arise. Arise and lift your hearts. Arise and lift your eyes. Arise and lift your voices. The living God, the living, moving Spirit of God has called us together - in witness, in celebration, in struggle. Reach out toward each other, for our God reaches out towards us! Let us worship God!
INVOCATION
Hymn: “How Firm a Foundation” CALL OF CONFESSION: The psalmist reminds us, “The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will not always accuse, nor will he keep his anger forever.” With this knowledge, we may confess our sins before God and one another with confidence. PRAYER OF CONFESSION: Searcher of hearts, You know us from the beginning. You see in us more good and beauty than we have dared to believe. You beckon us to do more than we have dared to try. Forever You call our names. We have filled our ears with the sounds of the world; we have timidly spoken of Your great love; we have doubted the gifts hidden within each of us. Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy and forgive us. Searcher of hearts, shine Your forgiving light into our hesitancy, and embolden us to live with such joy and fire that all the world may know of Your love. Let it be so. Amen. ASSURANCE OF PARDON: Friends, “God does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far he removes our transgressions from us.” In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. *Time of silent prayer.
