VOTUM and SALUTATION:
INTROIT: HYMN: “God of Grace and God of Glory” CALL TO WORSHIP: Weary and overwhelmed, we gather. God’s holy word revives us. Simple and confused, we yield. God’s word gives us wisdom. Blind and uncomprehending, we await. God’s word enlightens our eyes. More precious than gold is God’s word. Sweeter than honey are God’s commands.
INVOCATION
CALL TO CONFESSION: The good news is this, Christ came into the world to save sinners. Let us therefore open ourselves to His saving love as we humbly confess our sins, and in faith receive cleansing. PRAYER OF CONFESSION: Patient Lord, we have so cluttered up the “temples” of our lives that they have blocked out your healing words of hope and mercy. Forgive us when we have been so preoccupied with worldly things that we have not listened to your words and followed your ways. Clear away our fears and frustrations. Give us clean hearts and spirits. Help us to be confident in your mercy and transformational love. These things we offer in the name above all names, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Time of Reflection ASSURANCE OF PARDON: Rejoice! Let the clutter of your life fall away and be replaced by the love of God in Christ Jesus. For from Him, through Him, and to Him all things are given. For by Him, and in Him we are forgiven. Amen.
