CALL TO WORSHIP:
Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed.
   His compassion never fails.
They are new every morning!
   Great is His faithfulness!
The Lord is my portion.
   The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him.
Let us worship our good, faithful, and compassionate God.

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
       Father, we never truly understand the depth of our sin.  We think our mistakes are momentary slip ups and forget that sin is at the center of who we are.  We turn against You all throughout our lives. And yet when things fall apart or we go through the results of Your judgment we often question Your character instead of ours.
     Forgive us for thinking too lightly of our sin.  Forgive us for the ways we turn against You in thought, word, and deed.  And teach us to rely on Your love and mercy as the source of our forgiveness.
