Hymn: I Love Your Kingdom Lord

Call to Worship
Jesus comes among us today to bless us. We bow in humble worship of our Savior. He comes to bless us all regardless of our social standing. We acknowledge that we are not always worthy of your great love. Lord, we know that we are all different and we honor each other as we offer our gifts and talents. On this summer morning, let us pour out the sweet smell of praise to our God. May we honestly examine our lives so that we can become all that God created us to be.
Prayer of Confession
We confess to you, Oh God, that we are too easily content with the little that we accomplish. We think if we are reasonably good people or, at least, better than the worst, that we should be satisfied. You call us to perfection. You call us into the likeness of your Son Jesus Christ. Help us not to settle for "good enough" but to run the race with confidence toward the goal of finding in you our complete salvation.

Time of Personal Reflection

Assurance of Pardon
In Christ there is no east or west,
In him no south or north,
But one great fellowship of love throughout the whole wide earth.
In Jesus Christ, there is new life.
In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.

Hymn: It Is No Secret

Apostle's Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
      maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Ghost
and born of the virgin Mary.
      Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
      was crucified, dead and buried.
On the third day he arose from the dead.
      He ascended into heaven
and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
      the holy catholic church,
      the communion of saints,
      the forgiveness of sins,
      the resurrection of the body,
      and the life everlasting. Amen.

Scripture Lesson
Romans 12:1-2, 9-21
A Living Sacrifice
12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Love in Action
9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Charge and Benedictio

We're so glad that you decided to join us to worship God today!

As we continue to be physically distanced, this is a great time to check in with other people. This could be a family member, friend, or church family. As we get ready for school to start in the next couple of weeks, you may also want to connect with some of the young people or teachers in your lives. Send a card, or make a phone call!

If you need anything during this time, please contact Pastor Gary or a session member. If you have a prayer request for our prayer chain, please contact Linda Miller. If you need food from our church food pantry, please contact Becky Phillips.
