Psalm 23
A psalm of David. 1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. This is a great time for us to remember our older folks and people who may not be able to get out. We as a church need to make sure they have the things they need like food or medicine. If you need anything at this time, please reach out to Pastor Gary or a session member. If you have prayer requests that you feel comfortable sharing online, you can leave a comment on this post. If you have more personal prayer requests, you can contact Linda Miller for the prayer chain.

Please pray for the people of the world, as we will all be effected in some way by the coronavirus. Pray for healthcare workers, as they take care of the sick. Pray for grocery store clerks, as they work to help our communities. Pray for our children and teachers in this time of change and uncertainty. Pray for the elderly, to keep them safe and their spirits up while they are physically distant from their loved ones. Pray for people who are sick, for strength, healing and patience. Pray for those with anxiety, to feel safe and secure at this time. Pray for the world’s leaders, to make the best decisions to keep people safe, and to spread compassion and healing.

Thank you for adding some people to my prayer list that I had not thought of. In these times, maybe we should look for opportunities in the midst of the fear and tragedy. Especially for those in isolation, this is an opportunity to pray and to think about others. It is an opportunity to think about how we will show our love and appreciation better now and when this crisis is past.
