Hymn: We Gather Together to Ask the Lord's Blessing
Call to Worship It is God that draws us here, it is a yearning to praise that which is much bigger than any of us. It is a desire to give thanks for the bountiful gifts of life. It is God who draws us here for comfort in a bruising world. He challenges our half-hearted efforts to be the children of God that we have the potential to be. It is God who draws us here.
Call to Confession
It is in our confession that we realize our desires for God and our hope for God’s mercy. It is in admitting the truth of our lives that we take the first step toward wholeness and healing. So let us make our confession this day. Prayer of Confession Caring and loving God, we have resisted your love, preferring to go our own way, wondering from the truth, hoping for the quick success and a triumph that will last. We find it hard to admit our needs and confess our faults as our pride gets in the way. Let us be humble enough to come home to you again this Sabbath morning. Time of Personal Reflection Assurance of Pardon In Christ there is no east or west, In him no south or north, But one great fellowship of love throughout the whole wide earth. In Jesus Christ, there is new life. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Hymn: Oh Love That Will Not Let Me Go Apostle's Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost and born of the virgin Mary. Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. On the third day he arose from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty. From thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
