ANNOUNCEMENTS; CALL TO WORSHIP: (based on Psalm 68) Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior! Who Daily bears our burdens From the sovereign Lord comes an escape from death Our God is a God who saves Sing to God all the kingdoms of the earth Sing praises to the Lord To Him who rides across highest heavens Proclaim the power of God! *Hymn “ All Hail the Power of Jesus Name!” # 263 (verses 1&4)
* PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
Our Lord and our God, throughout our lives we daily forget the majesty of Your name. We think too lowly of Your holiness, justice, and power and think far too highly of Your created things. We fall into sin, seeking to feed the sinful nature in us that wars against the Holy Spirit. Sin to us is light, easy and we ignore Your anger against it. Allow us to see the weight of our sin as it stands before the only holy One. Allow us to see our weakness and faults before the almighty One. But having confessed our sin to You, most merciful Father, allow us also to see Your decree of forgiveness. By our confession, trusting in the name of Your Son, allow us to know forgiveness and a righteousness that is not our own. Amen *Time of silent prayer *Assurance of Pardon *Response – Gloria Patri # 581 *Passing of the peace Children’s Chat Prayer for Illumination Scripture reading: Luke 10: 38-42 Tami Rogers Sermon text: Joshua 10: 1-15 *Hymn “ Take My Life” #697 (verses 1&4) *Apostles Creed (on back of Joys & Concerns) Presentation of our titles and offering Offertory *Doxology # 606 *Prayer of dedication Concerns and celebrations Prayers of the people The Lord’s Prayer *Hymn “Blessed Assurance” # 839 Benediction Postlude Ron Dobscha

(verses 1 & 3) * PRAYER OF CONFESSION: ( A prayer by Martin Luther) Behold, Lord, I am an empty vessel that needs to be filled. My Lord, fill it. I am weak in faith; Strengthen me, I am cold in love; Warm me and make me fervent that my love may go out to my neighbor, I do not have strong and firm faith; at times I doubt and am unable to trust You altogether, O Lord, help me. Strengthen my faith and trust in Thee. In You I have sealed the treasures of all I have. I am poor; You are rich and came to be merciful to the poor. I am a sinner, You are upright. With me there is an abundance of sin; In You is the fullness of righteousness. Help and forgive me, O Lord, for my only hope is in You.
