PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
Lord of Life and Mercy, we confess before You and one another that we have not Your light in us enough to be good alone, we quickly lose our way in both excess and negligence, we have not eyes of our heart to see others as You do, we are quick to excuse ourselves and brood over the sins of others, we do not think of the harm and suffering we have caused others, and we are not able to keep ourselves in true peace of mind because of our sins. Have mercy on us, Christ, and bring us to know You and have everlasting life. O God, In lowliness of heart I ask You to drown my sins in the sea of Your infinite love. My failure to be true to my own acceptable standards. My power to deceive myself in the face of temptation. My failure to apply to myself the conduct that I demand of others. My blindness to the suffering of others and my slowness to learn from my own.
