Prelude: Carol Smith
ANNOUNCEMENTS:

CALL TO WORSHIP: (from Psalm 130)
Out of the depths, we cry to You, O LORD!
   Let Your ears be attentive to our pleas
If You, O LORD remembered our sins, who could stand?
   But with You there is forgiveness!
We wait for the LORD, our souls wait and in His word we hope
  All you people, hope in the LORD! For with the LORD there
   is steadfast love.
He has redeemed His people. Let us together worship our great
God and redeemer.
INVOCATION:

*Hymn  “Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us” # 187

* PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
Lord, when our flesh fails us, when we give in to the sin that desires
to pull us away, when we fail to flee temptation, have mercy on us.
All of us have been led by our flesh instead of Your Spirit. We have
fallen short sometimes in great ways that are brought to light and
sometimes in our hearts where only You can see. Our only hope is
in a Redeemer who takes the cross in our place. Forgive us Lord, and
remember the work of Your Son when we have sinned. Restore to us
the peace that comes through forgiveness and reset our focus
on following You. Amen

We praise You, sovereign LORD! You shield us in times of trouble.
   The LORD secures justice for the poor

* PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
Lord, when our lives are filled with trouble and the circumstances
of this life, we often forget all that You have done for us and in us.
Instead of turning to You in thankfulness and for help, we often hide
ourselves from You.  We doubt Your power and control over creation
and we try to go at this life on our own.  We don’t love You or love
our neighbors as we should. We reject Your commands as the rule
of our lives.  Forgive us for the many ways we have sinned and
bring those sins to light so that we may turn to You again.  Have
mercy on us and remember our sins no more. Amen

to be guided by our sinfulness and not Your Spirit.  Forgive us and
remember our sin no more.  AMEN

Prelude: Ron Dobscha

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

CALL TO WORSHIP:
Great is the LORD, and most worthy of praise.
   Like your name, O God, Your praise reaches to the ends

This is our God forever and ever.
   He will be our guide even to the end.
Worthy is the LORD!  Come now and give him praise!

INVOCATION

* PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
Lord, we confess today that our hearts have not been given fully

when Jesus seemed so precious to us and other times when
everything else seemed more important than the Savior.  Forgive
us for giving our attention to anything above Your Son.  Forgive us
for treasuring any worldly message above the message of the
Gospel.  See us not as we are but as Your Son is and give us hearts
that treasure what You have done through Your Son above anything
else in this world.  Amen

For January we will hold a blanket drive.  Our goal is to collect enough blankets for 25 families in Charleroi, through a Presbyterian Church there.  This should be about 100 blankets.  Starting in January we will have boxes to collect the blankets.
